'Chandrakanta' , which is a dubbed version of a Hindi soap opera by the same name is all set to go on air on Star Maa. The show will be aired from April 6. Chandrakanta will be telecast on Thursday and Friday at 9.30 pm.

The show starts when a King named Harshvardhan gets successful in possesing all the powers of the world and builds a tilism to store those powers and locks a Yaksha to secure the powers from anyone trying to steal the powers.

Prabhas, who spent the last four years filming for the epic movie Bahubali says, Playing the two characters Mahendra and Amarandra, and maintaining their individuality was a challenge during the shoot.

Prabhas added, his favorite character in the movie is Amarendra Baahubali. He loves the simplicity of the character as Amarendra Baahubali is a follower of dharma. He is the dutiful son and a great king, and yet has the capability for mischievousness.

He looks at justice as well as finds beauty in the world. It is a character that is easy to admire. On the other hand Mahendra Baahubali, is more carefree and playful, as seen in the first movie.

Prabhas will begin work on his new, yet-to-be titled movie this month. He finds the new movie a welcome change of pace after living and breathing Baahubali for four years.

Bratya said, “When I was approached by the channel, I felt that it will open a new horizon in television. The theatres which were once very popular and have artistic value will be televised.”

He quipped, “I believe that not necessary everything has to be preserved. Like, we have not watched Shishir Bhaduri or Girish Ghosh. If we had watched them, the image that we have formed about them might not have remained the same. Some would have liked while some would have not. Since they have not been preserved they have got the larger than life image. So, I feel that there is no hard and fast rule that everything has to be preserved.”

“Well, talking about the preservation of theatre, we are basically consuming and preserving that third from which we are exploring. So, now that we are exploring this form, in future people will be able to watch the works of theatre personalities like Goutam Halder, Subhasish Mukhopadhyay and many others,” he added.
